Early to late spring, as the first colorful blooms are poking their way up through the soil and the birds are beginning to sing in a chorus of melodies, our farm team is harvesting more and more blooms with every passing day. Flowers in May and June have architectural presence. Colors are a combination of soft pastels and bright berry tones, with light creams, pops of orange and watermelon pink, and carry a cheerful energy. Iceland Poppies ride atop long, wiry stems that wave in the breeze, and ruffled ranunculus and fragrant sweet peas get tucked into bouquets and centerpieces. We all adore spring here on the farm, as the first colors and fragrances of the season lift our spirits, bringing us gently into wedding flowering.

Late summer and fall bring with them unmistakable layers of rich, autumnal tones and textures. Here in Maine, September through October, many flowers take on a patina and vintage hue. Colors become more rich and saturated, complementing the landscape surrounding. Alongside rich, buttery creams and glowing peaches grow burnt oranges and velvet burgundies. Pale pinks now have a sister of deeper mauve and toasted browns, growing amidst fragrant foliage, all marrying together for unforgettable beauty, like an autumn sunset.
