Peonies Workshop, Saturday, June 27th 11:00 A.M.-2:30 P.M
A brief farm tour of our 600 peony plantings begins this workshop, and questions are welcome on how to grow these beautiful, hardy perennials. Participants will learn when to harvest, hold & hydrate peonies, and how to care for these romantic favorites, along with commonly asked questions such as the easiest varieties to grow, when to plant, how long until the first harvest, to disbud or not, when to cut back, fertilize, and how to grow these beauties to prevent the need for any harmful chemicals.
Back in the barn, Jennifer will style a demonstration piece as she shares tips and tricks for how to use peonies and other flowers in a medium statement arrangement. Next, workshop participants will have time to design their own medium statement piece in a beautiful vessel which is yours to keep.
Although peonies are the star focal flower here, other spring flowers and foliage will play supporting roles in our arrangements, like ranunculus, orlaya, snapdragons and sweet peas.
Come join us to style ridiculously lush, incredibly full arrangements focusing on peonies! Oh, the fragrance and fullness is fleeting so don’t miss this indulgent opportunity to play in the romance and softness.
Light refreshments will be served. Please wear boots or farm shoes that can get dirty, as we have lots of animals. Port-a-potty on site, and uneven terrain to be expected. Barn access from parking lot is handicap accessible. *No refunds available once booked, as we begin preparing for our workshops right away.
